The short answer is yes…
You might already have a good amount of first clients lined up, you might know that business (especially trade business) is built on word of mouth and referrals. But, sorry to say… we’re a judgey society. I know you’d be lying if you say you haven’t picked one business over another just because of the way they looked online.
A LOGO IS THE FOUNDATION OF YOUR BUSINESS’ IDENTITY.
It is the first thing potential clients see when they look you up, see you driving down the street, see you rocking up on-site. Let their judgement be a good one.
A WELL-DESIGNED LOGO COMMUNICATES QUALITY AND BUILDS TRUST.
It shows potential clients that you’re serious about your work. As sh**ty as it is, if your logo looks unprofessional, people will undoubtedly question how well you’re going to do the job. If you haven’t taken the time or bothered to invest in your own businesses image, why would customers expect you to take the time to do a thorough job for them. I know this sounds awful, but it is unfortunately how we’re wired to think.
A WELL-DESIGNED LOGO SHOWS THAT YOU’RE UP WITH THE TIMES.
If your logo hasn’t been updated since 2006 (or looks like it hasn’t been updated since 2006), again, you’re giving the impression that you also still operate your business off a Nokia 3310 and might not respond to clients for 30 business days. Again, awful I know. But judgey, judgey society.
When considering all the time-consuming factors and costs that go into building a business, a good logo might seem somewhat unimportant. But don’t sacrifice the identity of your business, don’t sacrifice crappy first impressions for a few hundred dollars and a quick conversation. In our professional opinion, it is 100% worth it.
